GE is recalling more than one million dishwashers in the United States and Canada as heating elements fail and cause fires.
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission said the recall included about one.
3 million GE, GE Adora, GE Eterna, GE Profile and Hotpoint dishwashers, including 94,500 units sold in Canada.
GE said it had received 15 reports of failure of dishwasher heating elements, three of which caused huge property losses.
There were no reports of injuries.
MABE Canada, a Canadian GE appliance manufacturer and distributor, said they had received three reports of failure of heating elements.
Dishwasher-
Sold between March 2006 and August 2009 for $350 and $850-
